Blackbird3 is a new beginning and reprioritization for the partners, as they seek investment positions in asset types beyond their original expertise. Our team is dedicated to deal and partnership sourcing and always prepared to learn about new industries, products and people.
Ben Payes
Head of Business Acquisition and Investor Relations
Ben is Head of Business Acquisition and Investor Relations at BlackBird3. He oversees portfolio management, asset underwriting, and strategic relationship development. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics and holds an active real estate broker’s license in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Rick Payes
Managing Partner
Rick is Managing Partner at BlackBird3, where he leads firm strategy, serves on the investment committee, and sources new investment opportunities. He holds a J.D. with a concentration in real estate finance law, a Master’s in Urban Planning, and a Master’s in Public Management.
Ari Payes
Head of Alternative Investment Strategies
Ari is Head of Alternative Investment Strategies for Blackbird3. He underwrites and manages a diverse portfolio across public equities, alternative assets, and derivatives. He also serves on the investment committee and leads investment sourcing efforts. Ari graduated from Syracuse University in 2015, holds a Maryland real estate license, and is a CCIM designee.
Jurate Bujanauskas
Chief Financial Officer
Jurate is the Chief Financial Officer for Blackbird3. She manages accounts payable, receivables, loan administration, contract administration, tax administration, financial reporting and bookkeeping. She has extensive knowledge of rental property administration and accounting software. Ms. Bujanauskas holds a B.A. from Klaipeda College in Lithuania.
